Biography
Claudia Fuggetti (b. 1993, Taranto, Italy) is a visual artist and photographer whose practice explores how images, technologies and ecological transformations shape the way reality is perceived. Working across photography, digital processes and moving image, she investigates the unstable boundaries between document and fiction, memory and invention, the human body and the environment. Her research unfolds across ecological, historical and technological contexts, examining how images produce knowledge, preserve memories and influence our relationship with the living world.
Fuggetti holds a Master’s degree with honours in Digital Cultures from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. Her work has been presented internationally at institutions and festivals including Les Rencontres de la Photographie Arles (2018), Copenhagen Photo Festival (2021), PhMuseum Days (2022), Giovane Fotografia Italiana (2022), Unseen Photo Fair (2024), Circulation(s) (2025), Photo Elysée Museum (2025), Fotofestiwal Łódź (2025), and the European Photography Month in Tokyo (2025). In 2026, her artist book Acid Flare won the Belfast Photo Festival Photobook Award. She was nominated for FUTURES Photography by Der Greif (2024).
In 2025, she was selected for the Emergence Sector at Paris Photo, one of the leading international fairs dedicated to contemporary photography
Her work has received numerous recognitions, including First Place in Fine Art at the Fine Art Photography Awards (FAPA, 2025), the LensCulture Critics’ Choice Award (2024), an Honorable Mention in Fine Art at the International Photography Awards (IPA, 2023), an Honorable Mention from the Innovate Grant (2024), and the BJP Edition 365 Award (2021).
Alongside her artistic practice, Fuggetti engages with critical and theoretical research. In 2021, she authored an essay for the Francisco Carolinum Museum in Linz, further expanding her investigation into contemporary image cultures, perception, and visual knowledge.
